The Source of my strength

Our Daily Bread

“Give us this day our daily bread.” Matthew 6:11

Ever since my surgery, I’ve been experiencing loneliness, defeat, and all kinds of trials. Being unable to move around due to pain has brought me down and discouraged me.
Today, I cried out to the Lord for guidance. As I cuddled under the shadows of His wings, He reminded me of how Jesus taught us to pray: “Give us this day our daily bread.” God knows what I need every day.
It’s great to talk about what He did for me yesterday, but it’s not enough to carry me today. Prayer is an expression of faith. Only as I partake of what God’s provided for me today will I be able to stand up to the challenges I face today.
There’s a reason why the Lord allowed the Israelites to collect only enough manna for the day while they were in the wilderness.
He wanted them to trust and know that He will do it tomorrow.
I realized today that all my discouragement, disappointment, and a sense of defeat were signs of not eating right. I need to return to the source of my strength, for only He can meet my needs with His daily bread.
Friends, if you are experiencing some uncertainties or discouragement, let me assure you that you’re not alone. God is with you and always willing to meet our daily needs.

Father, thank you for reminding me that You are with me always and that only You can meet my daily needs. Forgive me for focusing on my problems instead of looking up to you, who is faith and the source of my strength. I love you, Lord. In your name, I praise you, amen.

I have often asked the Lord if writing is His calling in my life; after all, I'm a teacher, not a writer. Through the Book of Luke, in the New Testament, the Lord taught me that Luke had no idea that his study would ever impact our life. He wrote for the One, his friend, Theophilus. Yet, God used Luke, a doctor, to share the truth about Who Jesus was and why He came. So, why do I write? I write to share the truth of who Jesus is and what He has done in my life.
